I saw X-Men III

15 06 2006

this week, and, boy, I was surprised.
[Spoilers] I mean, Mystique and Rogue become human (loads of other mutants too). Cyclops and Charles Xavier are killed by Jean Grey (or her other self). Wolverine slaughters quite a bunch of Mutants too, including Jean Grey in the end. Magneto becomes human, too, though the end tries to hint it might not have been a complete conversion. But a friend told me it happenes all the time in the comic series and the characters are revived by some shitty story. Cannot believe they will try that in the movie. But if it makes money, which it would, they (i.e. Hollywood) will do it. [/Spoilers]
And some scenes were incredibly funny. In all, I liked it, though not having high expectations might have helped. I’m going to watch the original version too, I just love Ian McKellen’s voice.

Good old times

Now that sure must have been nice:

But things change:
In creating three of the most well-recognized franchises in the history of PC gaming, Blizzard turned itself into a fantastically successful company, and simultaneously burned out or drove away the very people who contributed to its ascent.
