A Movie for Sushilord and Squee: FF7

While looking at the program for this years Fantasy Filmfest - thx Redeemer - I stumbled upon a new animated movie from Square/Enix: Final Fantasy VII - Advent Children will probably rock. Go, watch the trailers!

Es gibt einen neuen Film mit John Malkovich…

…und Naomi Campbell. Ich hätte ihn ja “Der Mechaniker Gottes” genannt, aber er heisst “The Call“.

A Job for the Redeemer

Trailer for “A Scanner Darkly”.

That looks totally cool. Like this 2d/3d-Style they did in XIII.

Yummy.

Shinobi seems to be one of those movies that could be rrrreally great. Swords, Martial Arts and Sorcery! Yay!

Wow!

Wow!

ctrl+alt+del goes animation…

How cool is that?

Aw, Man.

The Matrix is such a great movie. Why have they messed up the other parts so badly?

*sigh*

Virtual Martial Arts

Saw Ong Bak yesterday and have to admit: This movie rocks. In many aspects it reminds me of the first Metallica album “Kill ‘em all”. It’s straightforward, powerful and very brute force. It also shows much potential for things to come.

The style which is shown in the movie is also like this. Of course you have the usual break-a-leg-with-a-nasty-sound-scene, but I got the impression that every technique in Muay Thai that doesn’t directly aim to the head makes way for a direct hit to it. But then that could just be because such scenes were shown more often…

another link to a short introduction (flash with terrible music)

In other but related news: Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution turned out to be a major suckage. There are two kinds of fighting games: Those that give me the feeling of a direct connection between my fingers on the joypad and the things the characters do. And then there are things like VF4E, where I have the feeling, that I have to push the buttons in the right order to later watch what is happening on the screen.

I have the suspicion that this has something to do with my internal clock cycle being out of sync with my pS2. Squee hadn’t any of those problems. Boy, was that frustrating…

I’ll never ever buy a game again before testing it. promised. Also it’s not really the Outsider’s fault I think I’ll blame him anyways…

I really wish there were a martial arts category.

I just saw Magnolia.

This movie definitively goes to the WTF-section. Whatever it was, I didn’t get it…

Mini Movie Trivia

“You’re human!?”
“Barely. I’m a lawyer.”

Confessions of a Dangerous Mind

Just saw the movie. Great!

I think I’m in love with penny… (^_^)
