Roll a toon?
I heard this term twice and I don’t get it. Are there WoW-Guilds where your character choice is left to the virtual dice?
* Or whatever language that is.
Everything happens for a reason, except possibly football.

Besides planning an druid only WoW-party for the time after I’m finished I distract myself these days with the fabulous Konfabulator. Amongst other things I have found this neat little widget that counts down to the second when I have to turn in my thesis.
Another great way to drive myself crazy. Yay!

We can learn what social interaction in MMORpGs really is about.
Also “vomititious” is a good word to describe fashion crimes. (Found in Harley Quinn #3.)
I know some of you guys (and gals?) are/were playing both games. I played WoW for three months and already felt that the quests where getting a little repetitive and mind numbing. Admitted, when playing with the right people it’s loads of fun and as they say the experience changes once your level 60.
But reading about Eve (no shards! spaceships!) and having played Elite for quite some time (and quite some time ago) I wonder: Is it better or let’s say more rewarding or motivating than WoW?
Looking forward: Jeck
I just cancelled my WoW-Account cause with a deadline in three months and still much writing to do I just can’t justify anything which has remotely to do with leisure time let alone paying for diversion from THE TASK.
[Monday]
Had my eyes scanned. The procedure is all new, painless and fast but of course it’s not covered by health insurance. Also the people at the clinic were not really of the talkative kind. Since I am very inquisitive when examined by a doctor it was a rather frustrating experience.
[Tuesday]
Today I learned by accident that I – via the university – am entitled to free MS-software. If only I had known this earlier! Well, better late than never. I also started reading a book which is about writer’s block and how to do a scientific paper. What can I say? I must start over again… o_O
[Wednesday]
Spent the whole day editing our Turing audio play. Echtes Herumgefrickel. Spent the evening with Squee and the poy who stayed a little to long. As I accidentally turned the light off he said half-jokingly: “I understand the hint!” It was days later that I realized, that the only correct comment would have been: “It’s about time.” Bummer.
[Thursday]
Went to my eye-doc who didn’t give me medicamentation but wants to examine my eye again in autumn. I also tried a few more glasses. Interested parties can have a look at the photos Squee took and decide which model suits me best. After I was finished with all the eye things I thought I might play. Just a little. The rest – as they say – is history…
[Friday]
When I arrived at the campus I realized, that the book I thought I left there had been in my backpack since Wednesday. So I had to head to the Stabi where I had to return the book. There I met cR – for a minute. She had to leave the moment I arrived. But we might meet again next Tuesday to celebrate the end of her studies or her – let’s not hope so – her failure in the last examination.
[Saturday]
My day off. Together with Squee I wandered the Barrens. She’s playing a shaman troll who is addicted to mushrooms and goes by the name of Gristletree (Knorpelbaum). I’m playing a troll huntress who is called Saniesflower (Eiterblume) which has a tiger which she aptly named Bedsidecarpet (Bettvorleger). Much fun was had and we even managed to kill some monsters which where four levels above us. But clearly, after hours of playing I think I need a break from WoW. But we already invited the poy to come over and play on sunday.
Outsider! We have a pretty cool idea for a druid triforce gang! Get the game already!
[Sunday]
Don’t listen to what the Outsider says! It’s officially spring by now. How do I know?
Yehaa! I rode my bike today!

…I knew you couldn’t resist forever.
MUAHAHAHAHAHA!” – jeck’s evil inner voice.
All I could say: “But it was so easy!”

Well, maybe there is still hope for my diploma thesis cause what I did was just creating an account. That doesn’t necessarily mean that I have to play the game, right?
RIGHT?

…but from what I’ve heard it’ll be worth a try when it starts here in Europe.
But this is ridicolous…
What fun is it to play a level-based RpG when someone else does the leveling for you? Sick, sick, sick.
