I would have translated it with: “eine Kette von Pannen” which means something like “a chain of fuck-ups”.

i think i’ll stick with cluster-fuck.

for what it’s worth, to me:
fucktard sounds like a name for sombody that’s stupid, ignorant, or both.

see… we had (have?) a term “mentally retarded” for folks who have less than standard I.Q.s and who have trouble learning because of it.

as children, we used the word “retard” to mean anybody who exhibited any stupidity in any activity, except we emphasised the “re” part of the the word and said it in a voice that sounded stupid. it was politically incorrect to use the word like that even ‘way back then.

like “arbus is a “REE-tard.”
like “arbus is a fucktard.”

i suppose that’s why fucktard appeals to my ears.

now…
assfiddle sounds like a person who wastes your time with trivial opinions. it sounds more dismissive that anything else.

as in “ignore arbus – he’s nothing but an assfiddle.”

or course, if you have an assfiddle, you gots to have an assfiddler, too.

sometimes i am jealous of you folks with real languages.
you can sit and think and compare and combine.
come up with brand new words…

here, most assfiddles can’t get “to, too, and two” the right way round.
not to mention the simple “whose and who’s.”
don’t even get me started on “there, their, and they’re.”

i gots me two brand new names for idjits…

all in 2 days.

combine them with “asshat”
(that i leanred here in g-blog-land, too),
and i’d say i’m just about at the top of the heap, culturally-speaking.

question: do you have a descriptive phrase like “cluster-fuck?”

it usually means a series of mistakes, all of which add up to something larger.
like “this project’s been a cluster-fuck from the very start.”

That’s some “Völkerverständigung” we’re doing here. =)

might prove useful some day if i ever actually leave my little town…
