I got an invitation an invitation to vox.com (thx G!) and am now checking out whether this might be a new toy for me or not. Vox is a blogging tool which aims to integrate other media as well. It also has a three level access system. You can mark posts or other content as visible for the world, friends, family or the latter two. It also features a comfortable web2.0-style editor, but I miss the opportunity to mess with the “source code” of posts.
part of the process is that I have now five invitations to give away. This aims at the regular readers of my g-blog, I might decline inquiries from people I don’t know.
If the new service is good I might try to move my g-blog crowd there but right now I’m a little sceptical. But then the whole site ist still labeled as “preview”.
Oh yeah: You can find me at jeckpixelbrei.vox.com. I’ll probably double post the next weeks here and there.

…als Surrogataktion habe ich heute mal wieder ein aktuelles Ubuntu installiert - naja, ein Kubuntu um genau zu sein. Zu meiner Überraschung kann Linus mittlerweile sogar WLAN per WpA-pSK ohne größeren Aufwand. Es ist immer noch so, dass ich es keinem unbegabten User zumuten möchte, aber es funktioniert ohne Kernelrekompilierung. Lediglich ein paar Zeilen in /etc/networks/interfaces ändern und schon läuft es.

Ich spiele gerade mit dem Room Arranger um ein Gefühl dafür zu bekommen, wie es in meiner neuen Wohnung aussehen wird. Das Schlafzimmer betreffend sieht der aktuelle Stand so aus:
Grau: Kleideraufhängung an dem Totenkopfstab
Braun: Der große Schrank (geht Richtung Kommode auf)
Gelb: Kommode
U-Form: Sessel
Und das große ist natürlich das Bett…
