Soziogramm

Everyone knows everyone around seven corners or so they say…

Outsider sometimes works as voice actor for a radio show. Tonight they needed an expert on phishing. Since none of the usual suspects* where available, Outsider thought I would be a good candidate for a five minute interview on the topic.

Since I already know some things on the topic with two days time and internet access I might become a reasonably informed interview partner. But since time was not an option I declined but offered to look for someone.

I flooded every available communication channel to reach 46halbe who happens to have a certain social peer group who knows a thing or two about this topic. In turn she communicated with her peers and gave me two numbers which in turn I gave to the people at the radio show.

By this time communication went over five hops:

Radio people -> Outsider -> jeck -> 46halbe -> experts.

Between the Outsider and me where 580 km, but one of the experts 46halbe found lives in the same city the show was produced. As I told the radio person the name of this expert she was like ‘What? We worked with this guy all the time! We just lost his number!’. Well, well. I was glad to help and realized once more: It’s a small world and a crazy place indeed.

* You don’t know the movie? Then watching it is your next assignment…

    Your help was appreciated very much.
    Thanks a lot.
    And it made me look so coooool. ;-)
    “I know a guy, you know…”
    Sorry I could not get into the chat, but the rehearsal took longer and during the show there’s no time for it either. And some dumbf*ck tried to sabotage the chat.
