Monday
Feeling nearly fully restored I resumed taking my place at the university where business as usual ensued. I got two mails that day which really delighted me.
The first was from the vampire which actually had written upon my experimental invocation, received my answer and even wrote a reply which I got that day. Being used to monthlong communication pauses (hence the other nickname ‘Kommunikationspusche’) this was a refreshing change. The same day I wrote an answer but only time (or maybe the vampire) will tell if the things said there were a good idea.
The second mail came from Asus and basically said: “Well, if your’re Notebook is broken, just send it in.” I am glad to hear that and really hope that their service is better than apples.
Tuesday
Had the monthly meeting at the university and a very funny lecture where the prof kept bashing microsoft in spite of saying he wouldn’t do so. Hehe, I don’t mind…
Skipped training and instead went to the doc who took three phials of my blood. Maybe a closer examination of my vitae will suggest a reason of the things that happened last week.
Wednesday
At the Hörspiel-AG we made voice training. While trying to bring out some resonance and loudness (Rufübung) jK told kK: “Ruf mich an!” It took some moments before the meaning of those words had sunk in.
Then I had dinner with Squee at her place which (the dinner) was all tasty and yummy. Only the legacy of the snotling was a little disturbance to our comfort.
Later we had refreshing coktails: Cucumber/tomato for me and apple/cinnamon fpr Squee. And then we saw Ong Bak.
Thursday
Went at a meeting at the 2nd Force. Our viceboss asked us to try write paper a while ago in which we should lay out how we think our website can be improved. They said we would talk about it in that paper.
As the meeting took place our boss told us: “Well, I think it would be a good idea to write down how we could improve our site. So I propose you write it down and we meet again in a few weeks to discuss the stuff.” I just don’t know what to say about this.
Also one of the senior colleagues which is a member of the office for quite some time but has never worked online is from now on our direct supervisor. So the connection to the longterm planning team should get better. I wonder how this one will work out…
Friday
Didn’t went to university. At the warmup football match at the beginning of our training a guy gave me a forceful kick to the chest while I’ll tried to hinder his throw-in. I was really shocked by this event.
To understand why this shocked me you have to know: We don’t do some kind of shaolin soccer, we just play football to warm up. I was standing approx. half a meter away from that guy waving my hands in the air to make it hard for him to throw. I didn’t attack or touch him in any way. He is very muscular and has done a lot of fighting/martial arts stuff for quite some years. I’m rather fragile, you might call my figure ‘geeky’ and my reflexes are fast compared to a turtle. Which you can see easily when looking at my belt. It’s yellow, not black.
I know that out in the streets you might get kicked and no one will care. But I do learn karate to learn to cope with things like this some day. I expect a martial arts school to be a place of respect where I can learn accordant to my present skill. I expect to learn at a safe place and our dojo stopped to be that place this day.
Later I heard the same guy gave on od our girls (half his weight, height and age) a concussion the week before.
After the training I saw the “House of Flying Daggers” together with Loose, Lili and some guys from karate. Unluckily some of them didn’t lile the movie and couldn’t refrain from giving comments while the movie was running. I didn’t say anything cause I didn’t feel like I could be polite and didn’t want to snap at them. After the movie I told them in polite manner, that I think one should leave, when the movie is not to ones liking. “Well, but we paid?” That is what I call egocentric ignorance.
Nevertheless: I like the movie much better, than the Outsider did.
Saturday
The training got worser still. After a very good lesson was nearly over, one of the guests nearly broke my thumb. When sparring on the ground you are expected to use reasonable force and stop immediately when your opponent knocks on the mat. Well, so much for theory. He grabbed my hand, got hold of my thumb and nearly seized it farther than it’s supposed to go.
After waiting for two hours the doctor finally had time and asked me: “If it doesn’t hurt that much, why are you here?” Fuckhead. Luckily there seems to be nothing broken or ripped apart. After that I wrote my sensei a mail in which I asked for a 6 month leave from out school. Maybe I’ll stop going there altogether.
The evening was playing time again. “Ticket to Ride” this time, which was fun. I even won once.
Sunday
Nothing much happened also I am supposed to write at my thesis right now, because at the end of January I’m supposed to have a chapter finished. But I haven’t done a single page yet. Everytime I sit at my computer trying to do something I feel like paralyzed and I don’t know what to do against it.
The Outsider spent some (online) time with me and gave me a good trashing at incubation. Well, to be honest now our overall score is 3:3. We also phoned for an hour or so. It’s nice to know that some people are there for you when you need them. They even can read between the lines…
Man. When I look back at the first three weeks, I’m really wondering how this year will turn out. No headstart this time. Well, maybe all the crap comes at the beginning.
Next Week
Sunshine! productivity! Great Choices! A whole chapter written in just seven days! And maybe I’ll overcome this freaking depression by then…
