Yay me!

Last week my car broke and that usually means: Spend an unbelievable amount of money to a freak who still knows how to repair those old cars but is a nerd otherwise. BUT I thought it might maybe only be the sparkplug and it actually was.

How expensive was it? Hold your breath!

A whopping 4,40 Euro!

Nachdem ich gestern in dem Notebook-Laden ein bisschen laut werden musste um sofort behandelt zu werden, habe ich ihnen heute eine Dankes-Mail geschrieben um sie wieder gnädig zu stimmen.

[Quote] Betreff: Vielen Dank.

Sehr geehrte Herren,

New Gadget

I succumbed to the pleading inner voice at last and got myself a notebook. Kudos go out for my dad who just surprised me by extending the time he’ll pay my health insurance until the end of my studies! Yeehaw!

So I was pretty sure, that I wanted a 12″ cause I want a ‘portable’ computer – literally speaking. Apple was no option since I already made bad experience with their support. I too think that their 12″-displays are crappy and find two mouse-buttons very handy. Since I my budget was 2k the Sony pCG-V505Cp was the next consideration. I was torn though: Although this really looks like a sweet piece of gadgetry it seemed a little expensive and Sony’s customer service has a bad reputation too. A three year warranty is available – it comes for a price though: 250 €. Then I saw that Asus also is taking part in the 12″-Market: The M5200N is 450 Euros cheaper comes with a bigger disk, but integrated graphics ( v505cp has a Radeon 9200 ) and brings a mouse, a bag and a three year pick up warranty. So this is what I got yesterday…

While trying to install Xp I failed at formatting the HD. “Oh no. It’s broken!”, I thought and went back to the shop. They wanted me to leave it there and pick it up the next day, but I insisted that they have a look right now, which they did and managed to format the drive. Seems like only the quickformat is really working. All was well again and went smoothly from that moment. The main drawbacks seem to be: The Display is ok, but could be brighter. I really need a better battery, the one included holds barely power for two hours – but even if I buy the biggest it will still be cheaper than the Sony. The Fan is not very noisy but the sound is very high and getting on my nerves fast (only if their’s no other sound tho). Maybe I grow used to it or change it…

Hope this one lasts longer.

Hello?

I mean: Hello?

How can this be?

jeck goes and bangs his head against the wall.
jeck smiles happily.

…and if you look a little closer, you can see that he drools too.

Life is what happens to you while you’re busy planning it…

What I wanted to do today:

  • Buy a new Gi.
  • Hear all the lectures at Uni.
  • Attend Uechi training.
  • Get to work an hour early and prepare editing on friday.
  • Night shift.

What I managed to do:

  • Heard 2 of 3 lectures.
  • Slept.
  • Night shift.

Damn.

Arrg. The pain.

It’s been 11 hours and 36 minutes.

There are 15 hours and 54 minutes left.

Chances are…

…that I’m either even more crazy than I suspected or that alpha conspiracy really did a hell of a ear candy.

Visit their website choose the second tune (little flash player at the bottom) and stop the time until it gets on your nerves.

It’s running for approx an hour here…

Maybe I should get treatment.
