After I downloaded my new Amiga and watched some of the old demos, I came to realize that the games I used to play are available too. So I spend the past few days [except when working] with playing project X [this was my first game ever], pinball Dreams and Silkworm. Flashback and Moonstone are still waiting for me[1] and I’m still looking for a version of Might & Magic 3: The Isles of Terra.
I also found the Warrior’s Inn #12 … [2]
Ah. Those were the times.
The starting point for this was the demo scene for x86. There I have found some cool stuff too, but it seems, that if you’ve seen the stuff from farbrausch, you’ve seen 80% of the good things. In scene.org’s list of recommendations I found the remaining 20%…

…and worth taking a look at: Demos. For a starter see what 65.536 Bytes can do[1] to your machine.
If anyone out there still has a working copy of Mad Elks “Technological Death” gimme word. That was my all-time favourite back in the glorious Amiga times[2], but my Floppydisc broke. I still have the computer though.
Update: I couldn’t let go and found pouet.net. Then I had to fire up my Amiga Emulator, rip the Kick from my old machine[3] and stare at all the good things again:

On Sunday I joined my friends for an evening of V:tM. Turned out that there where to many players so next time I’ll be NpC. One of my roles will be that of a Justicar who was called to town because one of the characters committed diablerie on her sire and thought nobody would notice…
Since on that evening I wasn’t involved that much and was in the right mood I finally could think of an idea for a setting for the story I’ll GM later this year.
[Spoilers] “The hidden Father” is about a city which until recently was free of vampires. Now an nosferatu has entered the city and taken control. He’ll embrace the player characters with blood he stole/traded from other vampires. I just finished that book and liked it very well. The idea of time slicing seems very reasonable too and explains why I’m clumsy at times: My slicing technique is so bad that I need the two moments instead of one to get things done. :-)
I’d to see the Thief of Time Movie by the Wachowski Brothers and ILM. Surely would make for some spectacular sfx…

I’m using an old Sagem cause my Sony passed for good this time and I found out a ‘cheat’: If you start writing an sms and begin with “hey da” the mobile shuts down. Very peculiar… I wonder what the use of this function is…

Today I had the chance to achieve the first belt in Karate. Unluckily the girl which agreed to take my shift fell ill yesterday and I didn’t manage to look for another substitute. Well, I didn’t feel ready anyways. I’d rather take the test when the teacher thinks I’m good enough and not because six months passed and now is examination time again…

Wie hoch ist die Zuverlässigkeit in einem System in dem parallele und serielle Technik gemischt sind? ( Zwei Segmente, die aus wiederum zwei parallel verbundenen Komponenten bestehen, sind seriell geschaltet. )
Wahrscheinlichkeit für ein paralleles Segment: 1 – produkt aus den jeweiligen Fehlschlag-Einzelwahrscheinlichkeiten ( 1-R(t) ). Da diese Segmente seriell verbunden sind, werden die so erhaltenen Wahrscheinlichkeiten multipliziert.

Die möglichen Doppelfehler berechnen sich aus n*(n-1) [n ist die Anzahl der Felder]. In diesem Fall werden alle Doppelfehler erkannt, außer die, bei denen der Fehler in einer Spalte auftritt und ein Fehler in der Checksumzeile liegt und der eine Fehler stuck-at-1 und der andere stuck-at-0 sind. In diesem Array währen das also 20*4 Doppelfehler von 380 [20*19, siehe oben] möglichen Fehlern.
