A feature you all have been waiting for: Footnotes! If you wrote something like this:

Just enclose any text you want to have footnoted in double parentheses and it will show up at the end of the text with an appropriate link. ((This would be a footnote.))

Your blogpost would look like:

Important: There has to be a space before your footnote otherwise the system won’t recognize it. You can activate the wp-footnote-plugin in your dashboard under “Plugins”.

In other news: I also added buttons for font-type and size. Also Podpress has been updated. In some cases that seems to mess up the Anarchy Media Player. If you have any problems leave a comment here.

Another update!

K2 sidebars vanished instead there are widgets now. If you want them back, activate the “Disable WordPress Widgets” in your dashboard.

Somehow WPMU messes up the RSS 2.0-Feeds. Since they are the standard feeds for the site, the result is quite messy. I didn’t find out where the error stems from, but I have a remedy.

1. Got to feedburner and get an account.
2. Insert the URL of your blog (”http://nureinhobby.org/username”) .
3. When you’re asked which feed to use choose “RSS 2.0″.
4. Finish the process, remember the location of your feedburner feed and come back to your dashboard here.
5. Activate the Plugin “Feed Locations”.
6. Go to Manage >> Feed Locations.
7. At RSS 2.0 insert the URL of your new feedburner feed.
8. Save. Tell everybody the new of your feed. Done.
9. Optional: Do the same for RSS .92, ATOM 0.3 and the comments feed.

And of course there is a new RSS 2.0 feed for this blog too.

What I always liked about my breakfast blog where the alternating colors of the posts on the main site. So this morning I set out to do the same for the K2-theme. I tinkered with the theme and now you too can have alternating colors.

All you have to do, is a little change in the css of the style you’re using. Simply add:

padding-right: 20px !important;
background-color: #EFEFEF !important;
}

padding-right: 20px !important;
}

Then your blog will look like this. If you want something else just change the color (#EFEFEF). If you want I style all for yourself gimme a shout, I’ll upload it for you or if you’re especially trustworthyI’ll give you ftp-access to your style-directory.

At the request of a guy who invaded my brain this site now has the ability to tag or be tagging. You can activate the plugin “Ultimate Tag Warrior” in your Plugins-menu.

I updated our blog yesterday. Since my backup of the old site had an error the “write an entry”- link in your sidebar is temporarily not available. Will be back soon though.

1. Als Erstes müsst ihr euer altes Blog exportieren. Das geht bei G-Blog im “Control Panel”. Dort findet ihr den Link “EXPORT ALL YOUR BLOG ENTRIES AND COMMENTS“. Diesen Links rechtsklicken und “Save Link as…” / “Speichern unter…” wählen und die Datei benennen. Dabei ist wichtig, dass die Endung “.xml” ist.
2. OPTIONAL: Wenn ihr all eure alten Einträge unter einer bestimmten Rubrik wiederfinden wollt, beginnt jetzt ein bisschen Frickelarbeit. Öffnet die Datei in einem Textverarbeitungsprogramm ( am Besten eignet sich hierzu ein Programm, dass ohne Formatierungen arbeitet und bei dem man nach Text über mehrere Zeilen suchen kann. Dann müsst ihr ein Suchen & Ersetzen durchführen. Sucht nach “</author>
   <category>” und ersetzt es durch “</author> <category>g-blog.net</category>
   <category>”. (Die Textstellen solltet ihr nicht aus diesem Beitrag sondern direkt aus der Datei kopieren, da die Anzahl und Anordnung der Leerzeichen eine Rolle spielen kann.) Klickt dann “Alle ersetzen”. Die Anzahl der Ersetzungen sollte mit der Anzahl eurer Blogeinträge übereinstimmen. Die wird bei G-Blog angezeigt. Abspeichern und fertig.
3. Jetzt beginnt der Teil im neuen Blog. Öffnet Euer Dashboard (die Kontrollseite bei Wordpress) und geht zu “Options” und dort zu “Reading” unter “Encoding for pages and feeds:” tragt ihr “ISO-8859-1″ ein und klickt “Update Options”.
4. Jetzt geht es los: Geht zu “Manage” und dann “Import” sucht hier die Option “RSS w/ Comments” aus.
5. Dann einfach die auf eurem Rechner abgespeicherte Datei auswählen “Update file and import” klicken und dann den Computer in Ruhe lassen. Irgendwann meldet werden die Überschriften aller Blogeinträge angezeigt und es kommt eine Meldung, die “Have Fun!” oder so etwas Ähnliches wünscht.
